The entire world is gonna celebrate May 1 for one reason but for Ajith fans they have a special reason to celebrate, May 1 also marks the birthday of their demi-god, whom they fondly refer as Thala. Below are few interesting facts about Thala Ajith.

2. Apart from being a versatile actor, he is an avid racer (participated in the 2004 British Formula three season) and is keen on aeromodelling too.

3. Ajith love cooking and Biryani is his favourite recipe. On the sets of Mankatha and Billa 2, the actor cooked Thala Biryani (in which he uses both mutton and chicken) on the sets.

4. Mankatha (his 50th film) brought Ajith his best ever opening in his career and went on to become the blockbuster of 2011.

5. The actor has so far undergone 15 major operations in body due to a major accident that took place during the early stages of his career.

6. Ajith is a school drop out! He dropped out of Asan Memorial Senior Secondary School in 1986 before completing his higher secondary.

7. Though he was brought up in Chennai, Ajith began speaking Tamil only after entering films.

8. Ajith's most famous screen name is Shiva; So far in seven films (Kadhal Mannan, Vaali, Villain, Paramasivan, Aalwar, Aegan and Aasal), the has appeared with the screen name Shiva.

9. Ajith is one of the few actors to disband all his fans associations; he also gave up his 'Ultimate Star' title recently.
